FELINE DISEASES

Histiocytoma

Histocytomas are rapidly growing benign (not cancerous) tumors which appear as a domed, hairless, pink mass. They arise from skin cells and move freely with the skin. Some tumors can become ulcerated. The most common sites are around the head, neck and abdomen. Effected animals are generally less than 3 years of age.

Diagnosis is via histopathology (microscopic examination ) and treatment is surgical removal
