Is it true that cats like to play with hair balls?

No. When the cat grooms itself, it swallows the loose hairs from its coat. The loose hair can then form into balls which get stuck in the cat's mouth or stomach. Cats can usually get rid of the hair balls themselves. By grooming your cat everyday, you'll be able to brush away some of the loose hairs that cause hair balls.

My dog likes to get leftovers from the table. Are these good for him?

No. Just like people, dogs need their own balanced diet to keep them in good health. Although your dog might like to eat leftovers, it's best to feed him regular meals made specifically for dogs.

Why are a cat's claws so sharp some times and other times you can't feel them?

Cats have retractable claws. They need their claws out to climb trees, catch mice, and to defend themselves when they feel threatened or attacked. But when a cat is sleeping and playing, it doesn't need its claws, and so the claws retract.

Should I let my dog sleep at the foot of my bed at night?

Ideally, a dog should have his own quiet sleeping place - so no matter who does the snoring, you'll both get the rest you need.

Why do cats eyes shine in the dark?

Cats have eyes that can "catch" the smallest bit of light at night, which actually helps them to see better. The golden or green shine of a cat's eyes at night is a reflection of the light.
